Whatever the flying event, Delta Jets operate to the highest standards of professionalism and safety; the flight instruction and engineering is second to none. Our instructors are all current or ex-military fast jet instructors with a wealth of experience. Red Arrows, display pilots and test pilots make up this incredible team, all of whom have a deep passion for teaching others to fly these historic aircraft.
Whilst other operators do offer conversion course options, few, if any, offer the same facilities and expertise as Delta Jets. Why train with Delta Jets? Here are some of the reasons our customers choose us.......
Safety is of paramount importance.
We operate from a fully licensed airfield, with full radio cover, emergency services and 6000ft hard runway.
We have an expert team of engineers, dedicated to maintaining our aircraft in pristine condition.
Our instructor pilots are extremely experienced in all aspects of flying our jets, and can teach from basic to advanced and display level.
A full ground crew team prepare your aircraft before each flight.
All aircraft have fully operational ejection seats, maintained to the exacting standards of the manufacturer, Martin Baker.
We have virtually clear airspace within which to operate, rather than having major airports controlling the area above us.
(e.g. At some other airfields based aircraft have to stay below 1400ft due to airline traffic) .
We are fully authorised and audited by the Civil Aviation Authority.
We are fully insured.
When not flying, all aircraft are hangared at all times.
Training will normally commence on our wonderful Jet Provost T MK5A. A PPL holder, with
approximately 200 hours could reasonably expect to reach solo standard within 5-7 hours.
However, the CAA and our insurers insist on a minimum of 20 hours prior to solo flight - this
obviously depends on ability and continuity.
Thereafter, progression to the Hawker Hunter can be undertaken. All flights are preceded by a full briefing, usually multi-media; this includes all aspects of each sortie profile and full safety brief. You will be provided with aircraft checklists and procedures. Prior to flying with us, and accordance with C.A.A legistlation, all flying guests are required to become syndicate members of the aircraft, which is a very simple procedure.
