The engineering team at Delta Jets is lead by Chris Vaughan, Chief Engineer.

Prior to joining Delta Jets, Chris' career was with the Royal Air Force, during which time he supported various aircraft types, in a variety of roles, in many locations. Working alongside Chris, are a number of highly skilled engineers, all of whom take great pride in maintaining the aircraft in prisine condition.

In addition to looking after our fleet, Chris and his team also provide extensive maintenance services for private individuals and corporate jet owners alike. The engineering expertise at Delta Jets is in great demand, not only in the UK, but worldwide. We proudly support the Royal Jordanian Historic Fleet, Air Atlantique Classic Flight, Midair, Fox One and other such aircraft operators.

Early in 1997, Delta Jets was granted A8-20 approval from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for M5 Maintenance and E4 Design Authority on the Hawker Hunter (Reference DAI/9574/96). This cleared the way not only for the restoration of WV318 / G-FFOX, but also its ongoing operation and maintenance, along with other examples of the breed. The job of returning a 1950s military jet to airworthy condition on the CAA private register is very complex. With a full-time team of engineers and a pool of willing
(and very capable) volunteers, Delta Jets was able to return WV318 to the air in record time and this paved the way for more examples to follow.

ELECTRIC START SYSTEM

The Delta Jets engineering team addressed the outdated Hunter start system problem experienced by many Hunter operators. Severe limitations are imposed on operations by the original AVPIN and/or cartridge starting methods, so our team designed and developed a bespoke electric start system.

The electric starting system can be retro-fitted to all Hunter aircraft allowing safer, easier and more reliable operations. For more information use our "Contact Us" page and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
